PROJECTS 2014 - 2021
PROJECT 1 2014- 2015
Between December 2014 and March 2015 Micky's Foundation had organized their first project. A pediatric physiotherapist, Kim Rijnders together with a pre verbal speech therapist, Linda van Dijk have been giving intensive therapy to 13 children. Many children have shown great progress. To give an inside to the work they have performed with one of the children, here is a television program on Micky's Foundation, featuring Brandon Lopez (3 years): TeleNoticia February 2015.
PROJECT 2 2015
In June 2015 the second project has taken place. Pediatric physiotherapist Stéphanie van Gaal has given intensive therapy to 12 children until August 29th. Many children from the first project continued having therapy in the second project. Unfortunately the pre verbal speech therapist we contracted withdrew at the very last moment. Therefor we have only worked with Stéphanie in this second project. Meet Stéphanie working with Micky.
PROJECT 3 2016
This project has taken place between January and April 2016. Miss Jana van Hecke, pediatric physiotherapist from Belgium, together with miss Jael Bootsma, pre verbal speech therapist have treated 15-20 children for 3 months. They have given intensive and specialized therapy at the homes of the children. We will again strive to work as much as we can in close cooperation with the local therapists, in order to fine tune the therapy. Meet Jana working with Jevan.
PROJECT 4 2016
This project has started July 25th and ran until October 5th 2016.
We worked with miss Hilke Baumers, pediatric physiotherapist from Belgium. She has worked with mostly the same group from project 3 to guarantee the continuity with that group of around 10-15 children.
Hilke has also started working with new children in need of specialized therapy.
PROJECT 5 2016 - 2017
This project has started December 1st and ran until March 1st 2017. Pediatric physiotherapist Tim Peters and (for the first time) pediatric occupational therapist Sophie de Bont have treated a group of 20 children, mostly the same as in the previous projects and some new ones from the reserve list. We now have 46 children in need of therapy.
PROJECT 6 2017
This project has started March 21st and ran until June 18th 2017, with pediatric physiotherapist Kinke De Weerd and pediatric ergo therapist Sophie de Bont who has come back to continue working with the group she is treated in project 5.
PROJECT 7 2017
This project had started July 1st and ran until September 30th 2017. Pediatric physiotherapist Marissa Lake Hunsel and Pre verbal speech therapist Linda Vermeulen have given treatment to a group of 22 children, mostly the same as in the previous projects and some new ones from the reserve list.

Since the start in 2014 we have had 57 children in need of therapy.

SPECIAL PROJECT 2018
Micky's Foundation is very pleased to have organized a first and very special project. Between February 13th and March 27th 2018, one of our most experienced and specialized pediatric physiotherapists, ms. Kinke de Weerd, had started an intensive coaching trajectory of 6 weeks with the physiotherapist working for the department of rehabilitation of the Dr. Horacio E. Oduber Hospital of Aruba. Our aim is, on a regular basis to benefit local therapists with our specialized knowledge and experience we bring to the island. Masha danki Kinke with your great work in this new project! Physiotherapist Irene Pouls Reijnen and ergo therapist Silvie Vanstipelen have been giving treatment to a group of 28 children, mostly the same as in the previous projects and some new ones from the reserve list. Since the start in 2014 we have had almost 70 children in need of therapy.

PROJECT 16 2020
This project ran between January 6th and April 2nd 2020. Pediatric physio therapists Carmen Ubachs and Anouk Otten have provided treatment to a group of 35 children, mostly the same as in the previous projects and some new ones from the waiting list. Because we have been working with 2 specialized physio therapists, we have managed to start working with most of the children on the waiting list. Due to COVID 19 and the Aruba lock down, the project had to end two weeks earlier then planned. The lockdown lasted 3 months, so we could only start our next project in July.

PROJECT 17 2020
This project ran right after the lockdown was ended and the broders were openen again, from July 10th to September 30th. Pediatric physio therapist Pleun Kokken and verbal speech therapist Stephanie Rudelsheim have worked with a total of 37 children and despite the COVID-related difficulties and challenges, the children have progressed enormously.

PROJECT 18 2020
This is the current project and has started October 1st ending December 30th. Pediatric physio therapists Pleun Kokken will continue her great work and is now accompanied by occupational therapist mevrouw Kati Thor from Germany. They will provide treatment to a group of around 35 children, mostly the same as in the previous projects and some new ones from the waiting list.

This project ran between April 4th and June 29th with pediatric physio therapist Laura Lecompte and pre verbal speech therapist Leonie Vercruysse. PROJECT 25 2022
This project ran between July 4th and October 1st with pediatric physio therapist Liv van den Berge and pre verbal speech therapist Anouk Raijmaekers. They have provided a continuous treatment to a group of around 40 children, mostly the same as in the previous projects (and project 21) and some new ones from the waiting list.

PROJECT 26 2022-2023
This project ran between October 3rd and January 5th 2023, with pediatric physio therapist Daniel weeke and occupational therapist Tessa Palstra. They have provided continuous treatment to a group of around 40 children, mostly the same as in the previous projects (and project 22), around 12 children from physiotherapy center Hands on Health (for 4 months) and some new ones from the waiting list.

PROJECT 27 2023
This project ran between January 5th and March 31st 2023, with pediatric physiotherapists Ronald de Jong (from project 22) and Viola Sturm. They have provided continuous treatment to a group of around 40 children, mostly the same as in the previous projects, around 12 children from physiotherapy center Hands on Health (for 4 months) and some new ones from the waiting list.

This project ran between April 3rd and June 30th 2023, with pediatric physiotherapist Sandra van Damme. She has provided continuous treatment to a group of around 35 children, mostly the same as in the previous project.

This project ran between October 2nd and January 6th 2024, with pediatric physiotherapist Marian Schouwaert and speech therapist Hanneke de Vaan. Marian has provided continuous treatment to a group of around 30 children, mostly the same as in the previous project. Hanneke had started with a group of around 25 children, mostly who have been provided treatment from Anouk in project 26.

PROJECT 31 2024
This project ran between January 2nd until April 1st 2024, with pediatric physiotherapist Enya Martin, occupational therapist Helga van der Linden and speech therapist Martina Quant. Enya has provided continuous treatment to a group of around 31 children, mostly the same as in the previous project. Martina has continued the work of Hanneke with a group of around 25 children. And Helga had started again with a group of around 30 children mostly who have been provided treatment from Tessa in project 26. They managed to provide a steady treatment of 80n sessions a week.

PROJECT 32 2024
This project runs between April and June 2024, with pediatric physiotherapist Hélène Verstraeten and pre verbal speech therapist Bente Pisman. Hélène will provide a continuous treatment to a group of around 30 children, mostly the same as in the previous project. Bente will continue with a group of around 25 children, mostly who have been provided treatment from Martina in project 31.

For projects in 2025-2026 we continue looking for skilled pre verbal speech therapists and occupational therapists (we already have a pediatric physiotherapist for all these projects):
